LG Watch W7 with Wear OS to be launched alongside V40 ThinQ

According to rumors last summer, LG could have presented two new smartwatches at the IFA 2018 that took place from August 31st to September 5th, both based on Google’s Wear OS platform. So it was not. “LG Watch Timepiece” was supposed to be one of two wearables. Now, New reports suggest that LG will present a new Wear OS-based smartwatch in October alongside with the LG V40 ThinQ smartphone on October 3rd. It should be the Watch Timepiece smartwatch or Watch Libre which has been rumored in the past few months, but the commercial name will be LG Watch W7, according to the leaker @evleaks.

LG Watch W7 should arrive with a stainless steel body measuring 45.5×45.4×12.9mm, protection against water and dust (IP68 certification), 1.2-inch LCD screen with resolution of 360×360 pixels, a 240mAh battery, 4GB of memory eMMC, 768MB of RAM, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 3100 chipset , Wi-Fi 802.11n, bluetooth 4.2, USB type C.

Qualcomm presented the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform earlier this month, designed with a new low-power system architecture through a close collaboration with the Google team involved in the development of Wear OS to offer an advanced interactive mode and new personalized experiences and to support a prolonged battery life. Within the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform are a high-performance ARM Cortex A7 processor clocked at up to 1.2GHz, a Qualcomm Adreno 304 GPU and the new energy-efficient QCC1110 co-processor. Integrated audio technologies are Qualcomm Noise and Echo Cancellation, Qualcomm Voice Suite, Qualcomm Voice Activation and Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec and speaker amplifier. Other integrated modules are WiFi (WCN3620), RF (WTR2965), PMIC (PWM3100), NFC (NQ330), and optional GPS.
